Getting Beyond the Surface: Laser Facelift Surgery

May 19th, 2007

Growing older does not mean growing wrinkles and lines. If you have had a large amount of exposure to the sun, have formed wrinkles from any type of movements or have scaring that is becoming more noticeable in your older age, you can find ways to allow these wrinkles to disappear and move towards a healthier look. One of the ways that you can be certain to remove the aging signs is through laser facelift surgery.

Laser facelift surgery is also known as rhytidectomy. It has evolved into a variety of ways to take away the signs and wrinkles that are on the face. The types of laser facelift surgeries that can be used are related to different techniques that can be used to change the look of the skin. Some of these are related to complicated surgeries, such as cutting and moving the skin. Laser facelift surgery; however, uses the power of lasers and technology in order to remove lines and wrinkles that have formed on your face.

Laser skin resurfacing works by removing the top layers of the skin. Typically, the top layers are dead skin cells that build up on the face. By burning these through lasers, there is the ability to remove the dead skin cells, and allow the cells underneath to come to the surface in order to keep a healthier and younger look.

“Laser skin resurfacing works by removing the top layers of the skin.”

Within the major laser facelift surgeries is the ability to use laser treatment on different levels of surface for the skin. The first is the epidermis, which is the outer layer of the face. The second layer is the papillary epidermis, which is underneath the epidermis layer. If there are many wrinkles and lines that have been forming for a long time, and don’t disappear with the first two types of laser facelift surgeries, than the reticulas dermis layer can be removed.

Beyond this are ways to form the skin and allow it to become younger and healthier looking through different types of procedures. The most common that is used is known as laser resurfacing, and is known for changing the layers of the skin that are used. There is also the ability to use laser peel, which will help with scars, pigment and lines and wrinkles that have not moved as deeply into the skin.

If you decide to get laser facelift surgery, you should be conscious of the side effects that may occur. Most commonly, the skin that has come into contact with the laser will experience irritation, such as redness. However, the side effects are less than what would be experienced with other types of facelift surgery, making this particular style more common and effective with its ability to change the way your skin looks.

If you don’t want to apply daily creams, constantly work on removing lines and wrinkles or move through different remedies that are not as effective, than laser facelift surgery is a way that you can change your look. This particular type of surgery is an effective way to remove the layers that are causing your beauty to be held underneath the skin.
